Year 6 have really enjoyed their first day of Bikeability cycle training. They are taking part in a week long course which will help them to improve their cycling confidence, both in terms of general cycling skills and learning about how to cycle safely on the roads. Here are a few of their reactions to what they have learnt so far:

"I enjoyed learning how to do an emergency brake safely"

"We learnt a good way to remember what the different gear numbers mean"

"We learnt the ABCD acronym for things we should check on our bikes before we set off: A - air, B - breaks, C - chains, D - direction (of the handle bar)"

"We found out about the importance of not cycling too closely to one another to make sure we don't cause other cyclists to fall off"
