National Gallery Printing

National Gallery Printing

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed a very engaging trip to The National Gallery on Monday 13th May. On arrival, they were quickly whisked down to the gallery to sketch Rembrandt's portrait of Margaretha de Geer, wife of Jacob Tripp using various different artistic mediums. With their sketches to hand, they then went up to one of the on-site classrooms for the rest of the morning to have a go at creating their own screen-prints based on the portrait. Have a look at our photos to see exactly what they got up to. The afternoon was spent back in the gallery, learning about and discussing a variety of different paintings. All in all a fantastic, fun-filled day of creative learning!
