On Wednesday 4th February, twelve children from Years 5 and 6 took part in a nationwide Mathematics Quiz.
LCS had 3 teams competing against 94 other teams from schools all over the country, such as Ibstock Place, Highgate, Gresham’s, and Birkenhead. It was a nerve-wracking morning during which the children were faced with 30 challenging questions. They worked as a team to try to solve each one and thought tactically about how they could answer to try to secure the most number of points even when they were unsure of the answer.
We were told that the top 30 teams would make it through to the next round and were thrilled to discover at the end of the heat that all three teams had made it through coming 8th, 18th and 24th.
Well done to everyone who took part including our reserve team who are always ready to jump in if needed. We are looking forward to the next stage!
