It's Raining Eggs!

By Mia and Theo

STEM club have been learning about gravity and air resistance and we were given the task of designing and creating parachutes for raw eggs so that they wouldn’t break when dropped from the Year 6 window. On 22 May, Year 5 and Year 6 Stem club did our egg drop. Some groups were successful, their eggs elegantly descending down from the sky and some were not, their eggs plummeting down into a pile of yolk.

After the models were completed, the students dropped their parachutes out of the year 6 classroom window. The result was very surprising! Nearly all the eggs weren’t cracked and the shell hadn’t broken. All the parachutes came down but one parachute went onto a different track. It was so funny and shocking!
